Baizid Hosen

Assistant Professor (Physics)


Baizid Hosen was born in Madaripur, Bangladesh, in 1993. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Bangladesh, in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

He has started his research career during his thesis time for the masters’ program at the Plasma Physics Research Laboratory, Department of Physics Jahangirnagar University. He is currently an Assistant Professor of physics with the Department of Science and Humanities. He has authored over 07 research articles on plasma physics in various prestigious international peer reviewed journals. It may be pointed out that his total citations (at this early age) have already exceeded 80 with i10-index 04 and h-index 04.

He has received a number of scholarships, namely, the University Merit Scholarship and National Science and Technology Fellowship.

Plasma Physics

Plasma physics is the study of a state of matter comprising charged particles. Plasmas are usually created by heating a gas until the electrons become detached from their parent atom or molecule. This so-called ionization can also be achieved using high-power laser light or microwaves.
